The Hollis Center Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a part-time Library Director to lead our community library. This hands-on role covers daily operations, program planning, collection development, volunteer coordination, and community outreach — all in a warm, welcoming environment.
Hours: 22 hours/week (includes Saturdays and one evening)
Pay: $18–$20/hour depending on experience
Required: MLS and librarian, or comparable program administration experience

Volunteer-of-the-Year Dedication
Please join us in celebrating an extraordinary member of our community! On Tuesday, July 22nd at 5:30pm, Hollis Center Public Library will honor Maria as our Volunteer of the Year. We are deeply grateful for her dedication, kindness, and countless contributions to our library and community. All are welcome to attend this special dedication ceremony.

Hollis Center Public Library Book Club
The next library Book Club title is “The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Egan. Copies are available at the library. We will be meeting at the library on August 12th at 5:30pm.

News from the Children's Room
This summer, the magic is real! Hollis Center Public Library's Summer Reading Program, Reading Magic, runs every Monday at 10:00am from July 6th through August 17th. We have a spectacular lineup of guests and events including a visit from Fred the Magician, a performance by Portland Stage Company, a presentation from MaineHealth's HEAL Program, and a grand finale celebration at the Saco River Theatre featuring local author Jolene Whittemore reading from her book The Theatricats.
Free and open to all — come make some reading magic with us! Sign-ups start June 29th at the library!

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

The Home Schoolers' Library Club is a collaboration between our library and some of our patrons who are homeschooling to help them fulfill their "Library Skills" requirements.
Projects, games and activities to familiarize the children with the library and compliment the lessons. A snack is also included.
The program has concluded for the 2025-2026 school year, but stay tuned for details for next year!
